The Costuming Key

Costumes in The Costuming Key by Mystic's Carnival Collective

The tents are up, standing tall and strong. The venders and staff hustle to get the last minute details in place. Our performers—they’re warming up and costuming up.

.

The costumes are key to each and every show taking place within the world of Mystic’s Carnival. A lot of thought goes into the details. Some are made with maneuverability in mind. Others, primarily designed to dazzle and amaze you.

.

Take a gander at the many changes and varied appearances performers have in a production such as Cirque du Soleil. What Mystic’s offers doesn’t stray too far from this mark, with the added elements of magic and the supernatural. *wink*

*Cough. Cough*

.

In my day, we never had anything so ostentatious. The ladies wore rhinestone and sequins. They shimmered and shook. Men wore suits or dressed like a clown or tightrope artist. Things sure have changed.

.

I imagine my misses would be tossing in her grave if she could see the way people dressed today. But let me tell you—and don’t you whisper a word of this to no one less she find out—I think today’s changes are mighty fine.

.

Yessum. Nothing wrong with a few less layers. And the acts, well damn, they’ve come a long way, too. You folks will be in for an extraordinary experience.

You take care and be safe now, you hear.
